Designing Homes Around Real Life
Sloan’s Interiors is a Colorado Springs interior design studio focused on creating thoughtful, functional homes that reflect the people who live in them. I believe great design is never one-size-fits-all. Every client has different routines, priorities, aesthetics, and ways of living, and the most meaningful interiors come from understanding those differences.
My approach blends beauty, livability, functionality, color, and character to create spaces that feel deeply personal, visually cohesive, and supportive of everyday life. Whether I’m helping clients navigate a remodel, select furnishings, rethink the flow of a home, or bring warmth and clarity to an overwhelming space, my goal is always the same: to create interiors that feel as good as they look.

Every project brings a different set of needs, priorities, and possibilities. Whether you’re remodeling, furnishing a home, navigating a new build, or rethinking how your space functions, I tailor the design process to the scope of the project and the way you live.
My role is to bring clarity to the decisions, create a cohesive vision, and guide the project from early ideas through the details that make the home feel complete.
Full Service Interior Design

For remodels, furnishings, new construction, and whole-home projects, full-service interior design offers comprehensive support from concept through completion.
I help shape the overall vision, guide the many decisions along the way, and keep the design cohesive from room to room. Depending on the project, that may include space planning, finishes, lighting, furnishings, color, sourcing, styling, and coordination with builders, architects, and trades.
Services may include:
-
Remodel and renovation design
-
New construction selections
-
Kitchen and bathroom design
-
Space planning and layout refinement
-
Furnishings and sourcing
-
Lighting, materials, and finish selections
-
Color consultation
-
Styling and finishing details
Full-service design fees are structured as a flat rate based on the scope and complexity of each room or project. This may include furnishings and sourcing as well as cosmetic or architectural elements such as wallpaper, lighting, built-ins, fireplace updates, and other custom details.
We begin with a complimentary on-site consultation to discuss your project, determine the level of support needed, and establish the design fee. Existing furnishings can absolutely be incorporated alongside new pieces where they make sense.
What's it like working with me?
Clients often tell me that I notice things others don’t. I bring a thoughtful, outside-the-box perspective to each project, balancing beauty, functionality, color, and livability in a way that feels deeply personal rather than one-size-fits-all.

I also value strong working relationships with builders, architects, and trades, believing that good communication and mutual respect are essential to creating homes that come together thoughtfully and smoothly.

FAQ'S:
Do you work outside Colorado Springs?
Yes. While Sloans Interiors is based in Colorado Springs, I work with clients throughout Colorado and am available for select out-of-state projects. Depending on the scope of the project, services may be provided in person, virtually, or through a combination of both. If you're interested in working together, I'd love to learn more about your project.
What is the difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, interior design typically involves a broader scope of work. Interior designers may assist with space planning, remodels, kitchen and bathroom design, new construction selections, lighting plans, material selections, and collaboration with builders, architects, and contractors.
Interior decorating is generally focused on furnishings, styling, accessories, and cosmetic updates that enhance the look of a space.
In practice, many projects benefit from both. My work often includes everything from helping clients reimagine how a space functions to selecting the finishes, furnishings, colors, and details that bring it to life. Whether you're planning a remodel, building a new home, or refreshing an existing space, my goal is to create interiors that are beautiful, functional, and personalized to the way you live.
Is hiring an interior designer worth it for a remodel?
For many homeowners, working with an interior designer can save time, reduce costly mistakes, and help create a more cohesive result. Remodels involve hundreds of interconnected decisions, from layouts and lighting to finishes, fixtures, and furnishings. Having a clear plan from the beginning can help simplify the process and ensure that all of the elements work together both visually and functionally.
Many clients hire a designer not because they lack ideas, but because they want guidance, expertise, and confidence when making important decisions about their home.
Can you work with my builder, architect, or contractor?
Absolutely. Collaboration is an important part of the design process. I regularly work alongside builders, architects, contractors, and trades to help ensure that design decisions are cohesive, well-coordinated, and aligned with the overall vision for the project.
Whether you're planning a remodel, building a new home, or updating an existing space, I can help bridge the gap between aesthetics and functionality while keeping the many moving pieces working together.
Do you offer virtual design services?
Yes. Depending on the scope of the project, I offer virtual design services for clients both inside and outside Colorado. Virtual services can include design consultations, color guidance, furnishings, layout recommendations, and design direction for remodels and home updates.
Many projects can be successfully completed through a combination of video meetings, photos, measurements, and shared design presentations. If you're unsure whether your project is a good fit for virtual design, I'd be happy to discuss the options
with you.
What types of projects do you take on?
I work on a variety of residential interior design projects, including remodels, kitchen and bathroom renovations, furnishings, color consultations, room refreshes, and new construction selections. Some clients come to me for help transforming a single space, while others are looking for guidance throughout an entire home.
Whether you're updating an existing home, building something new, or simply feeling stuck and unsure where to begin, my goal is to create spaces that feel beautiful, functional, and personalized to the way you live.
What can I expect during a Design Strategy Consultation?
A Design Strategy Consultation is a focused, collaborative session designed to help you move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
During our time together, we'll walk through your home, discuss your goals, identify what's working and what isn't, and explore opportunities for improving the look, feel, and function of your space. We can discuss layouts, furnishings, color palettes, remodel ideas, design challenges, or specific rooms where you're feeling stuck.
Clients often leave with a clearer vision, practical next steps, and fresh ideas they may not have considered on their own. Whether you're preparing for a remodel, furnishing a home, or simply looking for professional guidance before making decisions, the consultation is designed to help you move forward with confidence and a thoughtful plan.
How are design fees determined?
Every project is unique, which is why design fees are tailored to the scope of work, project complexity, and level of support required.
Some clients are looking for guidance on furnishings and color selections, while others need comprehensive support for remodels, renovations, or whole-home projects. Following an initial consultation, I'll prepare a customized proposal outlining the recommended services, design fees, and next steps.
My goal is to create a clear process and a level of support that fits the needs of each project while helping clients make thoughtful, confident decisions throughout the design process.
How far in advance should I contact you?
The earlier, the better, especially for remodels, new construction projects, and larger furnishings projects where many decisions need to be made before work begins.
Ideally, I recommend reaching out as soon as you're considering a project, even if plans are still taking shape. Early involvement often leads to a more cohesive design, smoother decision-making, and fewer costly changes down the road.
That said, it's never too late to bring in a designer. Whether you're in the planning stages, actively remodeling, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of your next step, I'd be happy to discuss your project and explore how I can help.
