Why Work With Me?
A major home transition takes more than a checklist. It takes someone who can manage moving parts, anticipate problems, communicate clearly, and care for the people involved along the way.
My background combines interior design with years of experience managing complex events for private clients, corporations, weddings, and high-profile guests. That work taught me how to coordinate people, vendors, timelines, details, and last-minute changes , while making the entire experience feel seamless for the client.
I bring that same approach to home transitions. I can manage the logistics, help work through decisions, communicate with family members, and be present when others can’t. Just as importantly, I understand that downsizing or leaving a longtime home can be deeply personal, and I approach the process with patience, discretion, and genuine care.
My design background also brings another layer to the process. I have years of experience sourcing, evaluating, and selling furnishings and household items, so I can help recognize what may have resale value, what is worth keeping, and what truly belongs in the next home. I can then help shape the new space so it feels cohesive, comfortable, and intentional from the start.
My role is to carry the details so you and your family don’t have to carry all of them yourselves.
The Process

01.
Conversation & Assessment
We talk about the move, timeline, family situation, and where you need help.
Then I walk through the home and determine the scope of the transition.
02.
Plan
We establish priorities, responsibilities, vendors, and next steps.
03.
Support
Once we’ve agreed on where I can be most helpful, I take it from there. Managing my part of the transition and helping carry the project through the move and settling-in process.
You Don’t Have To Manage All Of This Alone.
Every home transition is different. Let’s talk about what’s happening, what feels overwhelming, and where I can make the process easier.
FAQ'S
What is a home transition service?
Home transition services provide hands-on help with the many details involved in downsizing, relocating, or moving from one home to another. Depending on the project, I can assist with sorting belongings, coordinating movers and storage, selling or consigning items, donations, packing logistics, move-day oversight, and helping clients settle into their new home.
Do you help families move aging parents in Colorado Springs?
Yes. I work with families who need help coordinating a parent’s downsizing or move, including families who live outside Colorado and cannot be present for every step. I can work directly with your parent locally while keeping family members informed and involved throughout the process.
Do you help with downsizing and sorting belongings?
Yes. I can help clients work through furnishings, household items, artwork, clothing, collections, and other belongings to determine what should move forward, what may have resale value, and what can be donated, consigned, stored, or discarded.
Do you coordinate movers, storage, packing, and other vendors?
Yes. Home transition services can include coordinating movers, packing services, storage facilities, cleaners, donation pickups, shipping, consignment, and other vendors needed to complete the transition.
Can you oversee the move if I cannot be there?
Yes. Once we determine the scope of my involvement, I can be present on behalf of the client or family to coordinate vendors, oversee agreed-upon logistics, troubleshoot issues, and help keep the transition moving forward.
Can you help if I live out of state and my parent is moving in Colorado Springs?
Yes. This is an ideal situation for home transition support. Once we establish the scope of the project, I can manage agreed-upon logistics locally, meet with vendors, help your parent work through belongings, coordinate movers and other services, and keep you updated from a distance.
Can you help set up the new home after the move?
Yes. Because I am also an interior designer, I can help determine what furnishings make sense in the new home, assist with furniture placement and layout, coordinate unpacking and organization, and help the new space feel comfortable and settled.
Can you help sell furniture, antiques, and household items before a move?
Yes. I have years of experience sourcing and selling furnishings and household goods and can help identify items that may have resale value. Depending on the project, I can coordinate online sales, consignment, donation, or other appropriate avenues for items that will not be moving to the new home.
Do you coordinate movers, storage, packing, and other vendors?
Yes. Home transition services can include coordinating movers, packing services, storage facilities, cleaners, donation pickups, shipping, consignment, and other vendors needed to complete the transition.
How much do home transition services cost?
Every transition is different, so fees are based on the scope, complexity, timeline, and level of hands-on support needed. We begin with a consultation to understand the situation and determine which parts of the transition would be most helpful for me to manage.
Kind Words
"Katie helped us manage the transition out of two homes after we had already moved out of the country. With both a short-term rental and our personal home to close out, there were countless logistics to handle from afar.
She coordinated the entire process on the ground, organizing our belongings into three storage units, arranging a shipping container, preparing and processing the items we wanted sent overseas, and managing the sale and consignment of everything we weren’t keeping.
What could have been an incredibly stressful and complicated process felt manageable because we knew Katie was there handling the details, solving problems, and keeping everything moving. Having someone we trusted completely to represent us and oversee both homes while we were abroad was invaluable."
